Vintage Chai Natural Botanical Perfume

Sunrise over the haveli, awakened with the cries of an old fashioned chai walla, welcoming the haze of the morning mist with a daily ritual of black malty tea, dark spices, steamed milk and traces of saffron and jasmine. A poetic blend of perfume and tea, inspired by botanicals mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic text.

Notes open with a whisper with bergamot, cardamom and pepper. Further spices incorporated are Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg, Coriander and a touch of Star anise all of which are infused with strong black Assam tea. A hint of Jasmine sambac can be detected, combined with the light fruity/floral notes of Osmanthus. Earthy base notes such as patchouli and Amber merge with Sandalwood, Saffron, labdanum and the oh so decadent, musky and complex Ambrette seed. The warm syrupiness is emphasised by Tahitian infused vanilla pods and grounding benzoin.

All perfumes are usually made to order by hand in my micro perfumery, so please allow time for creating.

The Ritual:
Apply with finger to pulse points, wrists, nape of the neck and behind the ears.
